  11. mine our done, going to go get a envenlope tonight. what are people using? i got a altoids can. just toss it in a bubble envelope with another. whats postage normally run? (3 stamps or so) will go out in the mail tommorow 7/26. -chris

  13. bout 6 hours from here, dang to bad you wernt closer. did you get a chance to fish clear lake or spirit lake? that area the iowa great lakes is awesome. some would say some of the best fishing in iowa. im a hillbilly so i dont agree, i say the best fishing is on the nasty mississippi river.... HA the NE part of the state has trout bankston and yellow river is good. sux your rig broke down, and too bad you wernt closer. -chris

  15. bluegill the size of my hand....lol. 50 pounder, we got a 43 pounder earlier in the week too. i love me some catfish.... hehehehe the story and more pics are here. wd40 lol at least im not the only one with a can in my tackle box.... hahahaha :headbang: story on the big cat -chris
  16. my fly on a 7'2" outlaw crappie stick, with a stradic UL reel. i cant fly fish yet....lol -chris
  17. try it now just made album public. it was a blast, by the end of the day he was holding the rod, setting the hook and reeling in3/4 pound gills on his own. see the blue gill swap thread in the swaps. kinda nice when he was catching gills on the fly i tied... lol -chris
  18. well guys im a proud father today. took my boy fishing for the first time. he'll be 3 in august. his first fish was a LM bass. 1.5-2.0 pounder. dad was holding him and helping him and i had the camera ready. i had it on video mode not pic but owell it turned out ok. so heres a short vid of the next generation of bass fisherman. colbys first fish. click picture to play -chris
  19. well here ya go on my ugly fly.... cat, bass, and a bunch of 1/2 pounders to one 1 pounder gill. not pictured is a 5 pound carp that broke my fire line once i had him landed. on a flip on the bank and he fell back in the lake before i grabbed him. -chris

  21. true, blueing wont get stainless as dark as a normal metal. but if you remember some of the old model 12 winchester shots guns were blued over stainless. it tends to be a lil light and 50 years later with alot of handleing it shows through. could you switch to a normal steel bolt the blue or brown them??? just keep us posted im courious to how it comes out, which ever route you take. -chris
  22. will mail early in the week. serious these dont look like much but they work. used a light cahill dubbing on a #10 curved hook, with a bead for a head. used chartruse colored thread to give it some bright apperance. wrapped the thread over the dubbing to add color then just a elk hair tuff of hair up by the head. looks like a wax worm with color and a spiked hair cut....lol im going fishing tommorow ill post a pic of what they catch. -chris
