  1. well folks went out to check our bank poles this morning. checked radar before i left, not a drop of rain anywhere. perfect weather, mid 70's humid suns coming up. checking bank pole #1 empty, 2 thru 4 empty. poles 6-20 notta. pole #5 our only catfish. once the sun started to come up the the fog set in. pretty neat not a sole on the water. river was smooth as glass, just 3 big ole country boys in a 14' flatty with a 10 horse. just thought id share a few pics of this wonderfull morning. after we got off the water it started to rain, and rained all day.... lol. im glad the radar said no rain.... hehehe o weill it was fun. -chris

  10. i got the griffin SUPERIOR 2A VISE. my question is some time when im applying the thread the hooks slips or gets pulled down. how hard or how much tention should be on the hook in the vise? ive been putting the hook in and tighting the little screw, then cranking the big knob to spread the back which is tighting the front when its spread. am i doing this right? i guess i dont want to crank on it to hard and break something. heres my vise: -chris

  16. thanks, i got that link last night from gene. he showed me one he tied and i forgot how he glued it. i was courious if one can make them with out glueing them together. or if they will just fall apart. what else can one make out of foam? -chris
  17. when you guys are making worms or grasshoppers out of foam. say your using 2 or 3 colors for the body. do you glue them together before hand like a laminate? or do you just tie them on as you go and use a dab of head cement to " spot hold them". can i see some pictures of what flies/hoppers/poppers you guys have made out of foam. was going to make a fat green and yellow catapillar but was wondering if i should lamanate the foam or just glue as i go. what size of hook is common on foam flies? -chris
  18. hey mike bout time you got over..... great idea, ill get at ya this week and get your video back to ya. -chris
  19. lol, sounds tricky... step by step write up if ya do it... -chris
  20. get a 12ga shoot light loads or trap loads even to hunt. the most im portant thing is make sure the gun fits you. a youth model may work better. if you get a normal model a gunsmith can cut the stock down for you. the 12 ga being heavier, and light loads will work and take away the recoil. if you get a 20 you may out grow it. but 20ga 3" nitro mag express is just as good as a 12 -chris
  21. COOL thats a good tip on the thread. -chris
  22. in the bright colors does it matter if its floss, tinsel, or just a bright dubbing? are the floss and tensel supposed to sink better or repel better than the normal dubbing? -chris
  23. now if i can just figure out if floss or tensile will come in handy for me(wet flies). no fun not having anybody close by to pick there brain. sorry for all the new guy questions. serious thanks to everyone on this site who makes this a real newbee friendly hobby. id be really lost without everyones imput. so is floss and tensile just to make the bodies? and for panfish would bright colors or natural colors work better? -chris
