  1. Spent Christmas day at my parent's place in northern MI. They have 3'-4' of snow in most areas of their property. It was a balmy 22 degrees, so we spent sometime outdoors with the kids. It took some legwork to blaze a sled path and the little ones had a blast. Here are a few shots. My neice. My daughter. Doing a little sleddin'. Undisturbed snow. Lighthouse at Ludington along the Lake Michigan shore.
  2. Great shots, Will! That emerger looks like a killler pattern.
  3. Jay, I always disappear from late September until December every year due to the archery whitetail season here in MI. The XTi is staying busy thanks to the kids. They don't mind their photo taken. Still learning everything about it, but having a lot of fun doing it. Now that I'm back in the rivers, you should start to see me around here more often.
  4. Either way it's a cool looking buck. I love bucks with character. I'm curious to see what he look like next year.
  5. John, I was viewing his right main beam as a 3rd beam in this pic. Now that I can see the sequence of photos in this post, I can tell what I was looking at. Alpha has some wicked brows!
  6. I always enjoy your photos, Jay, and this time was no exception. Great shots!
  7. BEAUTIFUL shots, John! Sorry I missed this earlier. I haven't made it to this forum in a while. Thanks for the PM and sorry I'm just getting back to you. I can't say enough about your whitetail photos. Whitetail deer are by far my favorite animal to pursue (with a bow) and you do a wonderful job of capturing them with a camera. As a hunter, I know the time and dedication it takes to view whitetail bucks in the wild. Thanks for posting! All of images say "Content Protected by Owner" so I don't know which is which. I went to your website to view them. Does the one buck have more than two beams?
  8. Nice shots and nice lakers! I really like the reel shot.
  9. Congrats on the opportunity, John! You've earned it. Keep us updated.
  10. Andrew, You take some of the best river photos I've ever seen. The rivers in your area are beautiful and you do a great job of capturing them. Thanks for sharing. Matt
  11. Great photos, John! I have seen a lot of young bucks on stand recently. 11 yearling bucks ranging from spikes to 8pts within 15 yards. I could have captured some nice photos of them. It's tempting to take a camera but I know something will go wrong if I do. Like a shooter showing up while I have the camera in my hand and not my bow. Beautiful colors on those rooters!
  12. Thanks guys! It's was also my son's 1st birthday so I kind of forgot it was mine too! At least all the focus is on my son now so everyone will forget I'm getting old.
  13. Great photos guys. That is a monster mullie buck!
  14. With my son's first birthday approaching, I spent some time today looking at photos. It's amazing how much they change. I thought I would share some with you. Day 1 Day 3 3 Months 4 Months 6 Months 7 Months 9 Months 11 Months
  15. Absolutely. Fall is my favorite time of year. Bowhunting for whitetails and fall steelhead are two of my favorite things. Toss in college football and there is never enough time in the day.
  16. Some amazing shots in there, John. The bird getting hit in the air is like nothing I have seen before. I'm a sucker for lab pups too owning a chocolate lab myself. As you already know, I love the deer photos you take. Can't wait to see more this fall...
  17. Love the first one along with all the photos in the "Ephemeridae-Adults" section of your site.
  18. Thanks everyone for looking and sharing your opinion. I have about 75% of the pictures up and it should be done soon. I made the template 100 pixels wider which allows the pictures to be 75 pixels larger.
  19. I designed the site in Photoshop, sliced it in ImageReady and the rest was done with html, php, and javascript.
  20. I started building/designing a new online photo gallery. I like my current one, but I'm always intrigued to learn new programming. So I decided to experiment with a new photo gallery using rollovers. I figure I would ask for opinions now before I get too far into it. What do you guys think? ***Update: New site is done!*** Old http://matt.tritonwebs.net/photographyold/ New http://matt.tritonwebs.net/photography/
  21. Beautiful photos and beautiful water. Thanks for sharing, Jay.
  22. Well thanks. I guess it's because I see top notch photos on here and I don't put myself on par with those. I always feel like I have so much to learn and a long way to go.
