  1. That's an excellent video explaining. That is the one I found when I tied the Adams.
  2. Those look nice. I got a set of Perfect Hatch Mayfly Wing Burner for $11.00 I'm going to try. I did this one and trimmed the feathers with nail clippers, as SalarMan said.
  3. My first try at the Adams. Thanks to SalarMan for the nail clipper idea to trim wings.
  4. I'll have to give that a try, thanks for the tip.
  5. Does anyone use them, looks interesting.
  6. Saw this one today came out on YouTube and wanted to try it. The Snowshoe Hare Black Caddis from Savage Flies. It has an indicator added, I tied it from scrap hackle and used black craft Faux Fur from the craft store. Tied on a #14 hook.
  7. Elk Hair Caddis today
  8. Sure, I'm always open to suggestions. Thanks for the video, I agree, less is better. Yes, All the knowledge you can gain, the better.
  9. Try to improve with each fly and add as many patterns I can tie well, be more active in the forums.
  10. Very nice Blue Dun, I'm going to have to try one soon.
  11. Back to the Elk Hair Caddis today. My hair is awful with a lot of broken tips. I ordered more today from another source.
  12. I've liked those as well since I first saw them. I ordered two this morning, the small/med and the med sizes. I think I'll give that a try.
  13. Today tried the Dear hair ant by Savage Flies. His was black, but I did these in natural because I never had black.
  14. I haven't seen this one before, is it used after you use a tube type stacker and lay the tube in it to slide more hair out? I don't think so. I was referring to the amount of hair needed to stack. I mainly plan on using it with the amount of hair in a medium size stacker.
  15. I'd like to find one with maybe 1/4". When I use mine, it tends to push back into the tube. Also, I'm looking for a stacker in the 12~18 hook size range.
  16. I'm looking for a hair stacker that I can grab the stacked hair pretty easy. I use a tube type, but it don't seam to leave enough hair to grab. Furthermore, I like the tube type and looking for advice on one that leaves quite a bit of hair past the tube. I'm looking at the Kelly Galloup swing stacker as an option. Thanks
  17. Today's tied w/o wire wrap. Savage Flies video. #16 hook.
  18. Thanks Sandan, I'll keep that in mind about the hackle. I need to watch those broken tips. I switched today back to a Pheasant Tail, by Ventures Fly Co. I wanted to do a few more in #14 and then back to the EHC.
  19. Yes Sandan, it makes sense, good advice. I did this one this evening.
