  1. Just wanted to let you guys know that I am still around! Been busy but back!
  2. I think its a little of both, but mainly the weight. Getting it to the right depth.
  3. Man that looks extremely real, great job!
  4. I haven't started yet because I am waiting on some hooks I ordered. I just got a book from Damian yesterday(thank you man) in the mail and I got some ideas for what to tie. I am mainly focusing on the salmon fly categories and maybe some trout. Looks like a great book Damian, thank you.
  5. Yep its supose to be at fishymans house on the 4th.
  6. I think ya did a very good job on that Uffe. Very realistic. :headbang:
  7. Thats a cool lookin fly. Bull trout are hard to catch IMO. I went to this stream in Central Oregon a few times and tried to catch them. They are picky fish, I couldn't get one to bite. Just need more experience I guess.
  8. Cool! Yeah I have every color and size but have mostly used the same beads each time I go out. Glow Roe, Dirty Roe... I really need to experiment with them next season. Sad to say it but I don't think I will be getting out anymore this year fly fishing. Maybe, just maybe I can make it down to the Kenai or Anchor Point once this Winter.
  9. Thanks FFB, glad you like it.
  10. MUST.....RESIST......RUDE COMMENT :hyst: .....actually thats the same way I do it, never have had a need for a threader yet :dunno: Now that I think about it there i one thing that I bought that I found useless (to me at least), and that was a material basket that attached to the vise stem. It just got in my way all the time I was thinkin of you bud when I wrote that last comment haha :hyst:
  11. I cut the thread making sure there is no other strands hanging out then stick it partly in the hole, then suck through the other end, feed it in a little as you do it if nothing comes out. Might sound a little nasty but ya get what I mean...
  12. I can't really think of anything besides the standard whip finishing tool. Those long ones. I have had one but I have no clue how to use it and the rotating matareli is so much nicer. I do love my rotating hackle pliers though, much easier to use then a reg. pair. I wouldn't say my bobbin cradle is useless but it does get in the way a lot. I rarely use it, when I do it works out very well.
  13. They come premade in a ball like that at the flyshops? Hey I see ya got the beads KC!
