  1. I may have already sent him some, I know I have made his life furrier. I generally save it for extra special friends, we'll have to see what the judges say.😁
  2. I must have some kind of insatiable need to please people brought on by my inability to please my wife. Weird huh. I actually made five of them, I used one myself last night on an extremely hard to hold 8X streamer hook that wanted to slip when I got near the eye end. I have 4 available if anyone else would like one.
  3. Then Mike gets partial credit too but he doesn't win anything either.
  4. I'm sorry to hear that. I had a surprise for you . Like everyone else, I was hoping I could help you enjoy your vise more and I know you didn't ask for anything.
  5. You were close too, you get partial credit but you don't get a prize either. 😄
  6. You sir are the winner, except that, it's made of high density plastic (UHMW) so as not to mar the vise. I call it the "HMH TRV rheumatoid, trigger finger mitigater". The bad news is, you didn't win anything, sorry. Only other thing is, he sold his vise before I could send it to him. I tried to get his mailing address from him (under the guise of sending him some polar bear hair) and he declined the offer. He's has always been reluctant to accept gifts from people even though he has contributed as much or more to this site than most of us. He's a giving, not taking, sort of guy. I made five of them, took about an hour to program my CNC to build them and eight minutes each to make them. They are not meant to apply more pressure than the vise was intended to take, only give people with less than average dexterity in there hands a better grip on the knob. With that in mind, I don't think it would null any guarantee your vise might have, if anyone would like to have one, please let me know. I'm sure my vise is way past any guarantee. I have had it three years or so and I have modified it. I modified mine to hold bigger hooks (11/0) better so now, I might not even need a wrench. I'm still going to keep one around in case I decide to tie on shark hooks.😄😁
  7. Same here in Fairbanks, but I would never trade Fairbanks for Florida. Remember, Mikey is in Florida. 😁😄🤣
  8. Then, if it's a good fish, and if you are a Mount-a-fish kind of guy (Though I suspect you are not) you could have a repro made of the fish and stick the fly in it's mouth, retire it forever and then your heirs will have to figure out what to do with it and the fish later.
  9. Those Take-a-fly boxes are pretty cool. I like it.
  10. I think you are on the right track. What we are talking about is back-stock. It's time for me to go back and do it again too. I'm sure I have a couple of thousand to sort. What I try to do is exactly that. A box for wets. In that box is a bin for PTNs, (maybe two if I have enough to sub-divide into colors or sizes) and one for spiders, one or two for princes, two or three bins for muddlers. I have one whole box for just woolly worms and buggers all divided into colors, sizes and beaded and non-beaded. I also have a whole box for just egg patterns. I have several boxes for dries, and several for streamers. One for poppers and a couple for salt water streamers. I have also tried to categorize for warm and cold water. I've tried to segregate for species of target fish and for fresh and salt water. Of course, they will all have cross-overs. It definitely gets more complicated depending on how many types of water you fish, the number of species you fish, and the different weights of line you fish.
  11. I, like others have said, would fish one and save one. I probably wouldn't build a shadow box for it though, I would put it on my lucky fishing hat and have it with me always. On a completely different note, my boat has 40 inches of snow on it.
  12. These are nice, I'm going to try some. What did you find the coastal deer did for you?
  13. I have a Regal and I like it, I also have two Dyna- kings, the two on the high end, I forget the models. I have several others too but i like my HMH TRV the most out of all of them. It all boils down the personal preference.
  14. You da man, Bug Man. Way to go. My eye caught all the growlers.😁
  15. Is it all kids these days or just James. He asks a question and then never comes back. Not to ask follow-up questions or thank anyone who answers his questions. Jeeze.
  16. That sounds like a great time.
