we have been using a 1/64jighead for our mops. medium blue has been best for gills and bass. another variation is tying them balanced style with a bead extended forward on a plain jig hook. best to fish them with an indicator

i do something similar with my ultimate worm fly i will leave the tag end thru the eye going down[  1/2 inch ] then add a split shot.  i also dont knot the end so it shot will slip off if snagged
