That's John in TN isn't it?
  2. Another 9' 6wt just out of the shop. This one with garnet wraps / no trim, rosewood seat and burl cork grip.
  3. Glad you are okay Nick. I'll tell ya what, there's not a whole lot that scares me, but wind/tornadoes is right at the top. I think it's because when I was younger I was pretty close to one and I watched 60ft trees get blown across the road in front of us like they weighed nothing, and that put a fear in my head I never got out of it.
  4. I bring them in directly for my rod business. Some other companies do the same and rebrand them as their own, but they start out as xi series.
  5. Latest out of the shop. 9' 6wt with deep metallic garnet wraps, burl maple seat, burl accent grip and few other touches added.
  6. Big ice storm here on Wednesday. Lot's of power outages and limbs/trees down. No snow but about 1/2"-3/4" of ice then 30mph winds. Not a good combo.
  7. Nice looking work Bryon. What wood are the first two? I was gonna say spalted maple, but the color looks more greenish so wasn't sure if they were something else maybe?
  8. Latest out of the shop. 6wt 7pc travel rod for a customer headed down to Florida to fish soon.
  9. Neither of those. I'll get them out soon and look again to see, but I think other than the SA Hardy, there is a Cortland, and pretty nice red color JC Higgins.
  10. Thanks guys. At first I told him the reels he had were $20-$30 range because the others are vintage Cortland and such so not a ton of value, but then when he dropped them off here so I could see them in person I saw the SA was Hardy made so knew it had to be more than I first thought, but figured the $265 price on some of them online was way out of line most likely. So this gives me a better idea then. He has a number of things I'll be cleaning up and listing for sale for him soon here. Was going through some of it last night and was crazy to see some prices on stuff. He has some new in pack leaders that had .25 cent price tags still on them 😲 Obviously they are now junk since the mono is so old, but it's neat to see how cheap they use to be compared to the price these days.
  11. I usually know most reels value pretty well, but this one I'm not sure. I have a buddy that came into a number of reels and older vintage fly fishing gear and I told him I would help him sell it all. One thing he has is an older SA system 9 Hardy made/England reel with spare spool and case. I've seen these listed online for as much a $265, but not sure what the actual real world value would be? Anyone have any idea on this?
  12. Screw all you happy couples lol 🤣 😜
  13. Latest 11'er out of the shop. This one with tiger maple seat and black wraps/burl grip.
  14. Real nice contrasting colors on this latest 11' 3wt just out of the shop. It's a good thing this one wasn't done while Mike was here over the weekend, he would have stole it if so 😆

    Howdy

Who are you callin' an "old face"😡 😁 Welcome back Steve haven't seen ya around for quite some time.
  16. Mike should be here any minute now, I'm sure he is loving this weather here. I have a space heater going in the theater room upstairs so he doesn't freeze to death 🤣
  17. Latest out of the shop. 11' 3wt 5pc nymphing rod. Not the best picture since it's inside, but only 10f outside so not about to brave the cold for a pic today 🥶
  18. Oh good Lord 😑😑😑 😁
  19. Same way. At first I thought they would really clash, then I thought, well kind'a nice. I dunno. Not something I personally would probably do on my own rod, but does look kind'a neat together I think.
  20. Latest 11' 3wt 5pc euro rod just out of the shop today.
  21. Mike's in Ohio again right now on business. He'll be coming up to hang out here with me again in the theater room this weekend. I know he must be loving all the cold/snow we have here right now 🤣
  22. Hard to say exactly how much of a difference you will fee, mainly because some people tend to notice slight differences more than others. There is a difference, but not a huge one. Also take a look at the MHX series of blanks that Mudhole offers. I have built on a number of them over the past few years since they came out, and they offer a spin-jig 7'6" 1pc that is 6-12# 1/8-1/2oz which may be a close match as well https://mudhole.com/collections/mhx-spin-jig-rod-blanks/products/mhx-76-med-light-spin-jig-rod-blank-sj902-mhx
  23. Looks like both a fun time, and some damn fine eating 😎
  24. The Revelation IP76ML is a tad lighter blank. 1/8-3/8oz. It's not a huge difference, but I think you will notice a bit of a difference in it. The other one to look at is the REVIP-76 M-SB which is a tad higher rating than what you have. What are you planning to fish for and with? ..spinners? poppers? live bait? crankbaits? or?
