  1. I did a lot of fishing today and always keep my fly box in my pocket. However as I was leaving i noticed it was gone. I walked looking for it for an hour and walking two miles before finding it. It was under some pinestraw where i had slipped. it felt so good to find it.

  3. I've been working on parachute flies and meaning to do extended bodes for some time so I tied these two extended body parachute mayflies. These are actually my first extended body flies.

    Drawings

    Do any of you guys draw or paint flies, fish, or lures? I've recently started and would love to see what you guys have done.
  8. I've never tried tying anything artistic until yesterday but here it is. I actually really liked tying it. Any tips for me to go further with this?

  10. Oh yeah. Here you go. Hook: Size 8-14 dry fly hook(keeps small presentation) Tail: Olive Marabou Body: 2mm foam with chartruese ice dub surrounding legs Legs: Yellow or green fly legs Eyes: glued on red foam with individual sharpie dot in center Thread: Olive or black

  14. How do I access the patterns database on here? It sounds really useful but I couldnt find it.
  15. My Dad. We were staying on vacation in North Carolina and he was teaching me so we could try and get some browns in a river. I was about 8 or 9 though I am still a kid so this was probably 5 years ago. Right by the river there was this very small pond but it was loaded with panfish. We had some san juan worms and I probably caught 30 panfish. It was the perfect spot to learn.
  16. It can have thread and could be a soft hackle but try to make it as complex as possible with as little materials as possible.
  17. Tie a fly with one feather, or one of whatever unit the material is in. If you want to, try to catch a fish on it. Be resourceful, for example you could use the softer part on the bottom of a hackle feather and dub it.
