That's a beauty!!!

That is GORGEOUS! Well done!

I'm not knowledgeable enough about cane to know the specifics on tapers; I was just curious. Tapers (at least the familiar ones) usually carry the makers' name and a model name or number, such as the Granger Special, Paul Young Perfectionist, Payne 100 or Dickerson 7613.

Super nice! What taper did you use?

I concur with the majority, Bruce! That's a fine-looking Jock Scott!

Yep, that was me. Still is, at least on a few other forums... -
Thank you, sir!

Thank you!

It's been years since I've tied an Atlantic salmon fly. This GH is one I tied several years ago. I'm redoing my tying room at the moment, but when it's done I plan to jump back on the bandwagon.

I'd have to go with Davie McPhail, Charlie Craven and Hans Weilenmann. Honorable mention to Barry Ord Clarke. Lots of other realliy good YouTube tiers, but those are my favorites.

I think I'll save the Davy knot for when I'm Tenkara fishing -- for 5-inch native brookies.

Thank you, gentlemen! @Sandan, I'm surprised you recongnized me from "there." It''s been years!

Mini McCraw Fly - Baby Crayfish
John McCoy replied to McFlyLures's topic in Step by Step Patterns & Tutorials
That's one I've just gotta tie. It ought to wreak havoc on smallmouth and brown trout! -
Hi, folks! New to this forum, but not to tying. I like tying almost all kinds of flies, but over the years I've probably put more effort into classic wet flies than with any other genre. Here's my first contribution, a freelance pattern I call the Gobbler. It's an homage to my favorite gamebird, the Eastern wild turkey. Hook: Mustad 3399, size 6 Tail: Wild turkey tail Body: Copper tinsel Rib: Brown silk floss Wing: Married strips of oak turkey secondary, blue turkey tail and red turkey tail Throat: Black hen Head: Red nail polish
