Thank you. Might trim the tail. The vice was class supplied. I picked up an original Thompson Model A and will start with that. I like old things that were well made. Woodcarving is one of my other hobbies and a number of my tools are from the late 1800s. Something about the good old stuff floats my boat.

The project that day was a wooly bugger. After looking at other examples I can see the tail is probably out of control! Oh well, you've got to start somewhere. 🙂

Hello. Just joined from South Dakota. Used to fly fish for pan fish with my son 20 years ago. Just getting started fishing again - this time with grandsons. Recently went to a free course at our local outdoor campus and tied the only 2 flies I have ever tied. Really enjoyed it and plan to continue. Mike
