  1. I really like you wet flies, they are beautiful. What size hook do you use for them?
  2. A 7/0 Evangeline. As you might have figured out, I really like Major Trahernes flies and decided to use all genuine materials on this one.
  3. I use a small pair of needle nose unserrated pliers to flatten and fold an upward angle to the quill (gently) and then tied them on one at a time on top of each other. Other than that about all I could suggest is practice, practice, practice. I now take apart anything that I don't like on these flies and keep trying until I get it to my satisfaction. I still have a long way to go looking at pictures online that look absolutely perfect to me. You can also find good resources for tying these flies on youtube, like Rich Lamonte and several other tyers.
  4. Wow, very nice and spot on to the illustration.
  5. Thanks for you kind words! They are a pain.
  6. Thanks! I really appreciate the input! I knew that the toppings weren't looking correct with the space between them and the wing....next time. I pre assembled the wing Carrie Stevens streamer style before tying it on which cuts down on a lot of material at the head.
  7. This is a 7/0 Jungle Don that I tied and it is the first salmon fly that I was able to tie multiple top crests on, that worked.
  8. Last I heard he posted on youtube that he was taking time off his youtube channel to devote time as a fly fishing guide. He might be back this winter, I hope?
  9. This is my first time posting here and wanted to share my latest fly and am looking for any criticism's that would help me improve my tying. Thanks!
