  1. I’m in Oregon, too. Coburg. I fish for surf perch north of Florence. Those “folds” in the sand on incoming tides are where I usually find them. I have best luck with a #6 General Practitioner or #8 Ally’s Shrimp. The fish “like” sparse crystal flash.
  2. Nice tie. The rib should be exactly four turns of each material. Very close to your pattern, snd a good inexpensive fly to practice with, is the Dallas. The hackles are black Dory hackle (I use black schlappen in the example). The head is dirty orange-pink dyed mohair or seals fur. I fish these. The loop is #20 Dacron backing, bound to the hook with black Danville’s 6/0 and super glued. Mike
  3. I still hunt with & target shoot traditional bows. My #50 Bear Super Grizzly is my favorite. I also shoot a #50 Beat Montana long bow. I shoot Easton Legacy XX76-2018 aluminum arrows. Traditional archery just goes along with fly fishing and casting.
  4. Another Atherton fan. This is going to be fun. Your flies are lovely. I have a small stash of Atherton s orange silk that I use for tying his dry flies. These were tied by him.
  5. Put me down for a Swedish Bibio. When you get to Intruders, I do a variation of April Vokey’s Intruder that is easy to tie, but looks complex and expensive. The Swedish Bibio is actually a series of flies featuring a body made from died hare’s mask with a hot spot. My favorite is as pictured - olive & orange. The Dee is one if my favorite Steelhead flies. I use white 20 lb Dacron backing for the eye. The last is a no name fly I use during the PMD hatches. That pink body is fluorescent and the McKenzie Redsides see it as PMD OLIVE-yellow. This was a happy accident years ago for me, sparked by John Atherton’s Catskill style dry flies. Mike darn. Just checked snd the roster is filled. Keep me in mind if you want a really really old fly tier in a swap.
