Campbell's Fancy
Hook - Wet fly
Thread - Black
Tail - Light ginger hackle barbs

Hackle - Light ginger tied on as a collar and tied back and down

Charles Campbell of Wall Street, New York, a lifelong member of the Beaverkill Trout Club, is the person from whom this fly got its name. Campbell was an old friend and customer of Reuben Cross. The Campbell's Fancy at one time was rated high on the Beaverkill for about two weeks around the first part of May, and curiously enough, nothing else would take its place.

i use the following. never have a problem with either one of them
i wont pay "manufacturer only" light prices to find out they are the same light from asia at an overly inflated price
$7.95 on amazon (cheaper if you look hard enough)
-
the sun works great and its free
cure the flies with your existing light and then put them out in the sunshine for an hour or so
-
whitetail is okay but their bucktails are mostly "sold out"
their dyed black deer hair leaves a lot to the imagination 👎👎
and chris helm used to be the king of deer hair when he was alive
