I garantee if they are feeding on the adults, they will be feeding on the nymphs too. drafons are a major food source for trout and bass. I have seen 4in trout trying to inhale a nymph. very nice looking fly and it shuld get their attention. marc

yes very nice. where did you get the foam from? marc

I have ran into that twice with flies disappearing with canada post. I hope my 8wt replacement piece gets here before thursday. marc

For those expecting anything from Canada, our posties will likely be on strike thursday midnight, so alternate arrangements will be needed. Marc

If your not, fish it under a float. marc

I was looking at superglue today as I would like a glue that sets up quick. on the gel type it said it was not conducive to foam. I have seen loctite etc-any particular one better than others. marc

I like it-I could see that pattern working well on the west coast of north america for large chinook too. gliss and glint is it available here in north america? marc -
great tie! I saw a pattern from oz land that is tied with the foam on the bottom of the hook so the hook rides point up. off to tie some up. marc
-
I found this on you tube-it is a simple and inexpensive tie. marc

I like it. I could see pike and musky tracking that down. interestingly, I could also see that as a coho/silver pattern in the saltwater. fish it in kelp beds or in bait balls on the surface and coho would have no issues tackling it even a big chinook. marc

This is the version we use in the forum I help moderate far more effective at keeping the spammers and stuff away. it just takes a little getting used to that's all. marc

It would work similar to a flatfish lure. I do think it will work quite well-irrestible to any fish that eats fish for a living. I suspect it would work well for baitfish eating rainbows or cutties too. marc

the group I posted about the adaptive group works with returning military personnel to help them thru thing like PTSD and just to simply reintegrate. I do think as tiers we can offer alot to local rehab facilities-it is a matter of convincing the right people of the benefits. marc

steve, google his name and the fly duck tape fly. you will find a link called onlinepubs.com I think and it is for the current issue of flytyer. marc

I can certainly appreciate the neurological side as I was recently diagnosed with a condition myself which has been flaring for the last 2 years. my problem was thought to be MS and then tranverse mylelitis. had the symptoms, but turned out to be something else. I to cannot do the long trips now-interestingly there is a group wo works with returning service personnel in the states http://adaptiveflyfishing.com/default.aspx there is also something similar here in canada. your right in that flytying is very good for motor skills and is relaxing as stress can be a major trigger of flares. A friend of mine started a program at gf strong rehab in vancouver for a flytying get together and the patients really enjoy it. marc

he has come up with another one using duct tape this time. Its in the spring copy of flytyer. I am pissed as I bought the mag then found I could get it free by googling the pattern and seeing the online version. tried to post the link but it will not work as it is a pdf. marc

Do you teenage flyfishers in the house:) he may have been looking for unique russian flies LOL have to agree with the others, likely a bug. marc

Looks fine to me-flies do not need to be perfect in the scheme of things. i spent a morning with 1 bluish spratley years back and by the time the bows were finished with it, things were hanging off it. marc

nice flies druce! I will have to give those a whirl myself. I really like the burnt orange colours myself. it looks natural when it hits the rideau. marc
