The only rules apart from the standard ones will be it has to be a favourite pattern of yours and the other is that it has to be fished in the salt. You won't get any of your ties back, but I will split the additional tie so that everyone ends up with 2 of one of the ties... so that will be different for everyone.... Oh... Dear Anglers from the Fly Tying Forum It has passed long time since I posted my last thread in this iexcellent Forum. First at all I want to give you my best wishes for all of you and your beloved ones in these Holidays. This time I bring for you my last video to show some of the Fly-Tails I was tying in the last weeks. I will use major part of these Fly-tails as a complement to my Attilas (own made spoonfly) and have more fun in my fishing. I have tied different colours combination with the purpose to have many alternatives to choose at the moment when I’m following a catch. It is true that colours and weather conditions go together. Then, depending on day light, water colour, and the specie that I am looking for, I will use different combinations. As I said, before to get wet many of these Fly-Tails will be set together with my Attilas (you can watch my Attila Spoonfly in my Youtube Channel to understand what I meant). I’m sure, I will enjoy a lot doing captures with these Fly-Tails and my own lures. Here in Peru, is very strange to see an angler fishing with his own lures/flies/etc. The materials I have used were: - Saltwater hook Eagle Claw Octopus 4/0 and Mustad #8 - For the heads: Deer hair (tail and belly) colours: White, Black, Yellow, Chartreuse, Fl. Hot Pink, Fl. Light Blue, Fl. Orange, Purple, Red, Blue - Artificial Craft fur: almost same colours as Deer Hair - Coloured threads - White Krystal Flash for bodies - Coloured Krystal Flash for sides and back - In some Fly-Tails I used feathers for the heads, to give more volume and movement I hope you like this video and your suggestions and comments are welcome. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Antonio Here is the link to my video: Saltwater & Freshwater Fly-Tails Arsenal

Have been playing with some downsized crab flies over the Christmas period.... And being summer here I used this morning's run-out to test their usefulness on my 2 weight.... The patterns themselves are very simple, and modelled on an Australian pattern known as the VGDC fly (Voltzy's Goldy Destroyer Fly), which is a killer on sweetlip (blue and brown bastards, and golden trevally). My goal was to make them smaller and lighter, and tie them with weedguards. So I tied up a few on size 6 SL45S and B10S for local bream, mangrove snapper, grunter (javelin) and a few other things to have a look at. It was a tough morning, but I sighted a number of fish, and overall was definitely successful. It's closed season for the barramundi, so I only got one shot off at the fella I sighted.... Unfortunately it was a poorly composed photo without a polarised filter on the lens It's been a tough end to 2013 for me, so it was good to get on the water and have a think by myself... I'm still messed up, but hey... I can still tie flies and cast the wand

HEY! I`m new in this forum, and just wanted to say hey! I live in Norway, Steinkjer, and work as a photographer. For most of the time i fish for sea trout and cod. Especially in the wintertime when everybody else is sitting in the couch watching tv I tie mostly saltwater patterns, but some freshwater flies. I am attaching some pictures, last picture is taken out of our window. Check out my blog: www.joachimwiig.tumblr.com And my website: www.cafotografer.com

Hey guys, Got out on the weekend with the Texas based pommy I told y'all about. I wasn't good enough to get him a barra, but he did get a queenfish and a bunch of others. Had most fun throwing small flies into snags holding pikey bream and archer fish. My best two fish came on the 2wt (the bream with a 4lb tippet, and the mangrove jack on a 6lb tippet). I also got a very nice estuary cod. Steve got some nice pics to, but I didn't get many shots of him. See the below piccies.

I'm looking into this fishery and plan on giving it a shot in the next few weeks. What are your favorite patterns and some that are easy to tie? I plan on fishing top water sand lance patterns with a WF floating line primarily, anything else I should know as far as flies and tackle go? Thanks for the replies
