Brookies brookies every where! Man, that 2nd creek I hit up was amazing wasnt it? If I went there first, I have a feeling I could have gone further, and gotten some more fish. I hear there are some larger brown trout up further in that creek, and the brooks seemed to get larger the further up I went also. These were beautiful little fish, and ones that pulled quite well on that small 2wt rod.

I finally was able to get some small creek action on my new 7'6" 2wt fly rod. It was truly amazing to be able to site fish these beautiful little fish. Granted, they were small, but size isn't everything, at least thats what I tell myself... HAHA So this really was one of the prettiest places I have ever been. The video really does not do it justice, but it was amazing! Beautiful mountains surrounding a small meandering creek, with tall grasses and brush cluttering the banks. I really could not have asked for a more amazing setting. The fact that the fish were so eager to hit the dry fly was truly an amazing thing. This was the first time I had ever fished where the dry out fished a nymph. I was really happy I got some this early in the season on my grasshopper pattern that I call "Mini-Me".

This small streamer has a bit of a background. I went fishing up in a high sierra lake, and threw every single fly I had in my box at the fish. This was the last fly I tried, and all of a sudden I got a hit, and another hit. The fish were hitting this fly left and right. I even had a few jump out of the water for it. So, many of you had asked I tie one like it. The only problem is I couldn't get orange bucktail and couldn't get the exact same hook. But it is all close enough, and the fly turned out pretty good. I think I will have great luck with this fly.
