May Flies From The Vise

Almost the last Banksia. I really like the yellow and burnt orange color. 

Hook - 14 

Bead - 7/64 gold

Body - 70 ultra yellow/ burnt orange

Rib - Br black and sm green ultra wire

Legs - wood duck

Thorax - Brown ostrich herl/burnt orange  electric wool dubbing

Hackle: back feather from a Hungarian partridge

A little fun last night at the vise - no off-set beads, no UV - made with materials on hand, crowded the head a bit:

Nick's Red Ass & Glass Variant

Hook: from the recycle bin (@ #14 I think)

Thorax: clear glass bead to fit hook

Butt: small red glass bead to fit hook

Butt Thread: red, built up under and behind to hold bead, then coated with SHHAN 

Body: black thread, peacock herl and small copper wire twisted into a rope

Hackle: Hun partridge
