Gene L 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2022 Finally got the nerve to give it a try. Not the best scissors I have, Not fine tipped, more for large work. Goor for cutting hair and gross work. Anyway, they wouldn't cut the corners off small plastic bags, which I sometime use for duffing material. Can't take them apart with my tools. So I used a diamond stone. It only took about 2 dozen strokes on each blade and now it cuts like new. The reasons I chose the one I mentioned, is because it was dull (duh) and because I'd pretty well given up on them and was willing to sacrifice them to learn how. The Macro size didn't hurt either. The stone I used is about a medium grit. I didn't set out to make two razor blades, just enuf so it would cut the plastic bags. It worked perfectly well. Not razor sharp, but doesn't need to be. The Mad Duck 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2022 I have a file that I keep in one of the drawers of my tying bench. When my scissors get dull, the file comes out and after a few laps on the file, they're sharp again! I hate dull scissors!
Poopdeck 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2022 I see dull scissors in my future but what the hell, nothing ventured nothing gained. Thanks for the inspiration.
