Alex C. 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2005 I am pretty much ready to "decorate" and organize my tying room but I am stumped on what color to paint the walls and the desktop of my tying counter. I want something that will reflect light well but won't cause a lot of glare. And then to make it tricky it's gotta be a color that my wife will approve of Any suggestions? Redleg 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2005 Green walls, Redwood stained wainscot along the bottom. I like a white or light colored table top.
Guest Report post Posted May 19, 2005 My favorite color is blue, so I painted my room a light shade of blue. All the trim is light stained wood and a leather couch against one wall. Very cozy and it's MINE!!! You wouldn't believe the fight I had to put up to get it.
Alex C. 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2005 2 of my top prospects right now are a key lime pie green and a light blue w/ white trim to get me by till I get some fancy trim
dontheo 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2005 Oh crap. Now you are going to get methinking about the wall color. I got all I can handle just trying to match insects with the latest and greatest blends of dubbing. I have some many skins and dyes it looks like a tannery in my room:). On the serious side bright is always good and reflects well. You can match just about anything with a lite beige or cream off colored white. Who has time to paint!!!!!!!!!!!! carp-starter 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2005 skunked, here where I live, it would be most logical to ask your wife first as to what colors she will "not approve". Then the nice people on this wonderful site can give you suggestions. GOOD LUCK
Bud Guidry 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2005 my suggection to you skunked would be to do whatever needs done to keep her happy. so what if your tying room has pink pastel with a light pastel green winscot. and who would care or say anything but SD if your tying desk had red tulips painted on it, it would all look nice with the ivy she'll have growing from the window sill and over your thread rack . if you'd like i can do that fly in pink and pastel green for you so it would match the room. Alex C. 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2005 Thats a very kind offer Bud, but, no thank you To be honest I am going to try to paint it a color that she'll be happy with, but for this room it only really matters if I'm happy, afterall, it's my tying room, not hers, she can paint the rest of the house flo pink for all I care, but a man has to have his domain the way he wants it or he'll go nuts, just my 2 cents
