Glad you like 'em.  I did some reading about Mr. Atherton. I really like his tying philosophy, and even though drowning has to be a terrible way to go at least he was out on, or shall I say in, the water.

With all of the newer dubbings on the market, you just don't hear about it being used very much by tiers.

What are your Pro's and Con's about muskrat dubbing?

 

 

 

I use it and like it. I like hairs mask too, and beaver. What ever the fly calls for. For original flies (that aren't on a recipe) I use whatever simulates what I am trying to do the most.

His book is on Kindle for $1.99. There is a chapter in there on his theory of tying that's pure gold.

Oh, and I do like muskrat.

Dyed muskrat dubbing is a little hard to find but when you are able to find it

stock up on whatever colors you can find. There's always a use for them.
