The last time I found plastic beadchain in many different colors and sizes I was at a party supply store… The kind of place for Mardi Gras supplies - or decorations for St Patrick’s Day - or a kid’s fifth birthday party….

Doubt you’ll ever find this kind of store outside a big urban area.  In fact the one near me only lasted a year or two and is long gone…

At times I've both colored bead chain eyes with markers (pentone or Sharpy) and also heated and powder coated.... Mostly though, the fish in my area eat anything properly presented and a number of my patterns have beadchain eyes in the standard silver or brass colors...

I paint them with nail polish from my daughter's stash if I want a different color, but I've never used the plastic beads, only metal beaded pull chains.

Yep, the salespeople at wally world are used to me looking thru the nail polish for vibrant colors. One smiled and laughed and told me (jokingly) that orange wasn't my color (I had told her on a previous visit what I use it for)
