👍 thanks Gene. Sticker or molded into the cast iron?

It's molded in the cast iron, vertically.

That vise appears to be a Crest "Custom" model. Those old vises are well made with good materials and are nicely finished. They operate smoothly and are capable of monstrous hook holding power. There is a current (or more recent) Crest line of fly tying tools, but I don't think there is any connection to the old Crest Tool and Supply company that made these in California USA.

Alright! Wow. Thanks Mars Rover. Impressed!... I knew it wasn't from outer space (thank you for that, too, Mike)

Thanks Rover,

I knew I had seen that vise before, but I couldn't remember who made it. I was more familiar with the lever operated Crest, which I remember as a sturdy alternative to the Thompson A.

Wow that's great info @Mars Rover.

Like Jaydub, Chug's vise looked vaguely familiar to me but I couldn't find an exact match in all my searching.  Thompson made a similar vise with the T-handle, but the shape of the jaws were very different.

I lied.  My No 1 isn't marked, the No 2 is marked on the cast iron.  Not enough cast iron on the 1 to letter it.

Thanks for the update, frankly I was a bit jealous.
