IMHO - any weighted, sleek, smooth/hard-bodied nymph pattern designed to sink quickly is a perdigon.  So yes, that would qualify.  A purist might say you should thin out the tail to just a few fibers and add a black or dark wing case.  I don't think what you use to coat the fly matters, I doubt UV resin was widely used, if at all, by fly tyers when the pattern was first developed.

But, I'm not running the swap, so there's that.

Hopefully you join

Perdigons should be coated with UV resin.

I have read several articles that state Perdigon nymphs were first introduced to the rest of the world by the Spanish Fly Fishing Team and popularized by the French Fly Fishing Team which was a more famous team in international competition.

Perdigon means "pellet" in Spanish, named because it sinks like a pellet.

The UV resin coating gives the flies a translucent appearance. Click on link below for video.

I'm in also if it's not too late. I thought I had joined before the site went down, my post must have been lost in the crash.

Ready to go, 2 sets with current tyers.  Will hold off sending until sign up ends.  Hopefully more will join in the fun.  Certainly plenty of time with these easy ties.
