john1962 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2024 That's 95% of flys for me 🤔. But I'm in, not sure which fly, still on my first coffee. Tightlines
Woodenlegs 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2024 I’m in but not sure what it will be Tying a Humpy Dry Fly size 12 or 14 hopefully it will turn out like the picture haven’t decided on color (red/yellow)
flytire 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2024 side note swappers pay attention to darrell's new address its different than his old address
vicrider 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2024 Especially these old guys who trust Pirateship to remember addresses for us.
vicrider 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2024 I'm in. With shaky hands these days almost any fly qualifies for me but I have a few I especially struggle with.
DarrellP 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2024 Yeah, I feel you. Getting enough light while keeping my glasses at the right distance from the fly to see it is my issue. Plus back pain. Old age is reminding me of all of the dumbest stuff I did. I am trying to decide between spinning deer hair, tying feather wings, or wrapping dry fly hackle. I think a Muddler minnow may be in the works, or some type of hopper. We'll see. My grandchild may learn some new words.
vicrider 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2024 Now that's funny because I was thinking of a Muddler and a White Wing Miller with duck wings.
john1962 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2024 I'll figure it out after the 4th, not sure yet what I will tie. Tightlines
john1962 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2024 I will be tying a variant of the black marabou leech from Hal Janssen. In size #8 from Sierra flybox.
vicrider 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2024 I don't know if it's climate change, vacations, or people tired of trying to get on and get the " TImed Out" message but it seems like we can't get the activity we used to get on the board. I have done a 1/2 dozen winged Yellow Sallies I'm not proud of but are as good as I can do. Not doing more until we know if this swap is really going to make it or not. flytire 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2024 i'll probably get back to swaps in the fall/winter
vicrider 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2024 Nothing personal Norm but I don't think this swap is for you. Seeing your work over the years I find it hard to believe there is a "Swap of Discomfort" for you to submit. If there is I'd love to see it.
