What kind of duck is this

I can acrossed this duck while fishing with sage8wt and torouttravler It was huge in size Do any of you know what it is ??

I can't tell you the breed, but it's definitely some sort of a domestic duck. The local creek I fish on has quite of few of them. It gets real interesting when they interbreed with the mallards. Some very strange looking ducks on the creek. That one looks like it might have a bit of mallard in it.

That's exactly what it is...a domestic duck/mallard cross. Fairly common when there are a lot of domestic ducks around.

this is a muscovy duck, it's a domesticated yard duck with no wild bloodlines what so ever. people around here have them running around in ponds all over the place. they can come in a wide range of colors also

Shh I think sage8wt is in love!!!

 

 

:wub: I was just waiting for that ugly thing to fly up and not only peck my eyes out but also give me the bird flu as well. I don't know alot, but what I do know is, that bird was not normal. I seriously thought it was a turkey vulture coming down the river when I looked over. I was hoping it would feed on Day5 in order to give myself and TroutTraveler enough time to make a get away! :hyst:
