hi im new here and was wondering if anyone know any good fly shops in northern nj or ny?

Noticed a lack of response to your question, so I'll do the best I can in

the absense of someone 'on-the-ground' there in NJ ...

 

I'm nearby in Eastern PA and haven't heard of any good shops in NJ - news of

a really good fly shop usually travels, but that's not to say there aren't any.

(a quick poke around Yahoo yellow pages didn't seem to turn up much ...).

 

Can't vouch for NY ...

 

As far as tying materials are concerned, a sponsor of this forum, J Stockard

has a really comprehensive web site where you can get anything you may need.

They are indeed a class outfit. I get everything I need from them.

 

If you're looking for advice, maybe you should consider joining the nearest

chapter of Trout Unlimited.

ramsey outdoor store in ramsey nj or ledgewood nj has some supplies, i go to cabelas in hamburg pa also, not sure where you are in nj. in califon les shannon has a fly shop hope this helps.
