Fly Tying

Recommended Posts

thats a great question? I am a warm water fisherman. I do get to fish for steelhead and salmon in the greatlake tribs, but my knowlege of stream/lake trout is limited to panther martins. I have a trip planned for this spring to fly fish out west. What are some good go 2 patterns to tie up?

Yellow Stimulator with a Red Copper John dropper. On many of the small streams around here I feel as though I could bring just those two. Disclaimer: these are mountain streams and the trout are not picky.

Caddis, Caddis and Caddis patterns. Then there is Pheasant Tail nymph size 18. For the caddis patterns sizes range form 10 to 24s.
