dsaavedra 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2007 dang no one listens to their ipod when tying?!?!?!? I SURE DO!!! not often tho. so my answer is sometimes. i'd rather listen to a CD or the TV, because i want to save as much battery life on my ipod as possible for the freaking hour long school bus ride in the morning

Tinman 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2007 My tying time is to get away from it all. No Ipod, no tv, no radio. Just me and the dog.
Kodiak Commando 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2007 When I tie flies I like to have the TV on since my station is right near a big screen or I will listen to NBA games over the internet. Honestly I can tie longer if i have some sort of entertainment going, esecially if i'm planning on tying one pattern for an hour or more.

flyfishingtaz 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 I put a nature cd in. It's called streamside. Basicaly just a recording of a mountain stream. Puts me in the mood for tying. Ipods are too confusing. Tried using the kids, and they have to show me how to download stuff to it.
joelst 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 :hyst: :hyst: Ipod? don't own one.My computer is next to my fly tying desk. When I want to listen to music I paly it from the computer.Have about 1400 songs on hard drive. Used to be a napster freak way back when. 3 dog night, CCR, Bob Seger. When I've been sniffing too much head cement, I usually play "One toke over the line, sweet Jesus, one toke over the line".Doesn't get any better!! :headbang:
oatka 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 I don't own any type of MP3 player, but I've thought about buying one and building speakers into my tying desk so I can just "plug and play." maybe someday.
Green Acres 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 I have the DELL knockoff, I love the concept and it has proved really reliable, but the software for the PC is lousy and invasive to the point I listen while tying about half the time and to what do I listen you may ask books on tape, errrrr, mp3 and from do I get them you may ask Here librivox I didn't realize it at the time but I guess I got into this when things were first starting up it's all free cause al the books are in the public domain may I suggest, anything by Mark Twain, Treasure Island, Dr. Dolittle it's a great way to rehash some of the classics Pauly

critter 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 I sometimes listen to my iPod when not tying at home, I sometimes have the hockey game turned on my 12" tv in my tying room. I have found that if I want tunes on in my fly tying room, that plugging my iPod into the Dell Speakers ($20) is awesome. They sit one on each side of my tying bench, with great sound. Best $20 purchase I ever made, next to my iPod which was a birthday gift. Here is a similar item as mine apparently have been phased out since it is over a year old. -Critter
