Bruce Derington 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Hers a different kind of Rapala, articulated as well!
JJD 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Bruce, That is an incredible fly! Nice color, density, and trimming! Unless its a closely guarded secret, how is the joint made? Is the front a tube? Nice job. John
Bruce Derington 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 No tube here, the fly uses 2 Carrie Stevens hooks 10XL joined by 17lb. bite tippet. The front half's eyelet was snipped off and bent 20 degrees. You can't see it but there is room for a split shot on the tip so the fly tracks properly

arkfisher 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Really nice tie Bruce! I got to fish my yellow jointed minnow this weekend...I had to trim the lip some, but it swam real nice. That one looks like it may dive a little. I'll probably be up half the night tying one now.
JSzymczyk 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 that is GREAT! I think warmwater FTOY is already wrapped up. That is the COOLEST "fly" I've seen in many many moons. Now I need to try something like that...

arkfisher 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Bruce, How do you put that lip on the front of the fly? I can pack the hair pretty well now and get quite a bit past the hook eye, but I'd like to see how you did this. Thanks! Richard
