wing burners

Recommended Posts

Trying to tie efficiently, what is te most efficient method of tying and preping wings. Wing burner sounds intriguing. I have seen ways to make these from brass. It seems pretty easy however, can you get wing burners that don't cost a mint and work well ? B)

Faster Fish posted templates for wing burners in pdf format...you should be able to make some from the patterns.

This is one case for making your own.

I saw an article where the author had made his own wing burners for the purposes of burning

the wings after they had already been tied to the hook.

If conventional wingburners look like tweezers in side profile ('V' shape), then these had a 90

degree bend just at the point where the wing base would be, for hook clearance.

If you decide you want to go this route, let me know and I'll try to dig out the article and get

you more detail.

I once made a pair of wing burners out of an old pop can. (Soda can) Your only burning wing barbules. I really think that burnt wing flys went with disco and polyester suits.
