steelie 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 Good Day, Indeed, a nice fly. Always kind of wondered why keel flies sort of fell out of favor. Just a fad? Who knows, but I like them. Steelie
DHise 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 Yes, hard to get the keel hooks anymore. Dick Pobst helped design them way back when. I have a good selection of them, from him.
steelie 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 Good Day, Dave, indeed. I still have a few packs around here somewhere in the pile that is my materials closet. They are in one of those boxes... haha! Steelie
supaflygsr 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2008 Faster, Very nice tie! I've been messin around with the same style for awhile and found if you tie the first batch of bucktail on the bottom of the hook shank it will ride point up. Just don't go too thick on the bucktail. Hise, tie up some of those double mickey finns and double chartruese/whites on those keel hooks... then go throw them on the new or the fb and watch the giant smallies try and take em away!
