Very good try using the hide from youre deer haire and cut it innto a strip for the tail.

I can't really do that. I use the hair from deer i shot and i don't tan it, I just salt it and it's as hard as a rock.

If you have a Tandy, or other leather crafting shop near by, you can get scrap leather strips for cheap by the pound usually. I personally use a small long clump of marabou for mouse tails too. I add 4 rubber legs to mine too, large white color, and I do some with flylipps to get the wiggle.

I've heard of many people using chennille, it should probabaly work fine, just perhaps not so bright a color :dunno:

I use a strip of rabbit hide for my mouse tails. Just shave off the fur.

Well thats not always true. Color does matter to some degree.
