B.C.TroutHunter 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2004 The hook is a standard dry fly hook, but the wing (Parachute style calf tail) is tied in at a slant. The brown hackle is wrapped on the shank, but the grizzly is wrapped on the wing post. I have found that parachute style wrapped hackle keeps a fly "floating" longer, so when the brown hackle starts to fail, the grizzly will keep it up. B.C.TroutHunter 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2004 QUOTE (Silver Bullets @ Jul 25 2004, 01:42 PM) the fly is on the cover of my fly tying book(The Art Of Fly Tying) by the way nice tying!! I am borrowing that book from my friend, but that pattern is my own variation/hybred of a Royal wulf, a royal coachman, a parachute dry fly, and a regular wrapped hackle dry fly
