BH Red Tag?

Hows it work for 'gills. IT certainly looks flashy enough. What about the durability of the peacock herl? Just give me some general thoughts about it.

As always, thanks for the good advice.

Anyone ever used it?

It works wonders for trout but have never used it for gills. I think it would work great. If you want to make the peacock more durable, tie it in with a strand of fine wire that you would use for ribbing, twist the peacock and wire together with just a few turns to make a "rope" and then wrap the body of the fly.

Tie a few up, try a couple color combinations that you know work for gills, fish them, and let us know what you come up with. That is what fly fishing is all about.

It is one of my go to flys for gills. I always carry some

in my panfish box. It has also caught me several nice

accidental crappies. I have had no problem with durablity.

Old hat I was thinking over the winter of trying it out for

trout. I have never used it in cold water. After reading

your post I can't wait.
