Toirtis 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2012 Hi here, Â I'm new. I own a Villeneuve vise, made in Quebec. Â I have never seen, nor heard of this vise before...I would love to hear and see more.
JiCi 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2012 Hi Toirtis, Â This vice is "hand made" by Michel Villeneuve who lives in Quebec. The vice is made with high quality components, the jaw is made with "tool steel" Grade 01 that is very hard and lasts for years and years with no digs or dents after thousands of flies. This material is not stainless so you need to clean it from time to time with a soft towel and very few gun oil to prevent rust but I never hear about this problem from all the people who use this vice. Michel gives this advice to prevent eventually problems. Â You can find information on this french forum : http://www.quebecpeche.com/forums/index.php?/topic/111957-etau-villeneuve/ Â There is no website about this vice but you can contact Mr Villeneuve at michel.villeneuve [at] videotron.ca he will give you all the information you need. Â Cheers
flytyer48 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2012 I have paid between £5 and £15 for the three vices I have used over 35 years of tying. They have satisfied my growing skills over the years; I may only be an average tyer but the flies catch fish! However, a year ago I was given a present of an Anvil Apex and I feel that it has definitely improved my tying. I hope the trout agree!  I am now dropping hints about a Porsche improving my driving but the hints are falling on deaf ears!

jimmyboni 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2012 Done most of my tying on Regal and HMH vice for the past 25 years. I just purchased the Jvice and must admit best vice I have ever tied on, especially tying small flies on the midge jaws. Jim
