Guest Report post Posted October 16, 2003 As most of you know, i am simply a working class stiff working a menial factory job in a mediocre town. Well, for the last 15 weekends, we have been working overtime. This weekend, i had made plans to attend a Theta Chi Reunion at the ol' frat house, and lo and behold...gotta work. I would love to have 1% of the money my corp. pays in utility bills to just keep us running an extra day. These six day weeks are getting rough. Sucks to be me.....could be worse though, could be SmalliHunter!!!!!!
Guest Report post Posted October 17, 2003 You could be what's known as a former employee of some outfit that decided to move it's operations out of the country (shut up and be thankful you have a job, numbnuts!) This North American Free Trade Agreement didn't do much for anyone except shareholders and CEO's, as far as I'm concerned- I'm certainly rethinking my purchasing options regarding American firms doing offshore business and bringing it back in to screw me with equally high prices - what happened to keeping jobs in America? - cheap labor isn't the only problem, but companies certainly have a shoot onesself in the foot problem with trying to satisfy shareholder's demands for higher dividends while trying to maintain market share...at a reasonable price to the rapidly diminishing net income of the average consumer. Gee, maybe this ought to be one thread removed
