Jimmay 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2009 Hi, I have a question regarding trailer hooks for any steelhead/salmon fly. Is there any reason to use Fireline over spiderwire? I have some #50 spider wire stealth I was hoping to use for trailer hooks, and noticed a lot of people prefer fireline. From what I see, I don’t think there is a lot of difference between the two. Thanks in advance. Cheers .

stonefly1 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2009 Been using #30 Invisibraid Spiderwire for quite some time and it works great for trailers on large streamers. Easy to work with and never had a break off. Just my 2 cents, but either should work as well as the other if it is secured properly. A little Zap-a-Gap doesn't hurt.
