Catalpa_Joe 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2010 Anyone got cabin fever yet? This swap will keep you busy for a while. Here's the details. Swap is open to the 1st (20) swappers that respond with "I'm In". Everyone sends 20 flies, you get one of your own back, keeps sorting a lot simpler. It's for any pattern, any size, for bluegills or panfish. All the usual swap rules that appear at the top of the forum apply. Responders 21 thru 25 will be alternates in the unlikely event someone drops out. Due date is March 1, 2010. My addy will be furnished as needed. THIS SWAP IS FULL 1. Mickalo 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2010 quick question, as I've never participated in a swap before, do they need to be all one type of pattern or can they be a mix? Mike
Catalpa_Joe 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 Mickalo, They all need to be the same for this swap. Toe tags, return envelope with postage, & other swap rules are in the "pinned" section above the forum topics. Hope you decide to join us.
Mickalo 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 Hi Catalpa Joe, Very interested in the swap just want to make sure I fully understand all the rules. I am assume these are the rules your referring too so I know I'm looking at the right one: http://www.flytyingforum.com/index.php?showtopic=1515 Regarding this item: 4. Box will be sent to swapmister (with a stamped self-addressed envelope) The envelope should be large enough to send flies in for the swap and enough postage to return the envelope? Thanks, Mike
Catalpa_Joe 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 Mickalo, Those are the rules I was referring to. When I mail flies for a swap I usually put them in a small plastic or cardboard box. Just something to keep them from getting crushed or lost if the envelope gets a small hole in it. I then get (2) 8"x11" padded envelopes from the P.O. or dollar store. I put the swapmeister's address & postage on one & my address & postage on the other. The flies & my return envelope go into the swapmeister envelope. The swapmeister & P.O. does the rest. Catalpa_Joe 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 Mickalo, Usually (4) 1st class postage stamps each way hauls the mail. You can have the P.O. weigh them to be sure.
