Everything in science is just a theory because science is nothing but a bunch of observations. The beauty of science is that the theory changes when the observations do - not the observations change and the theory doesn't. Don't worry Jan, I take away a lot from our conversations! The break-up of the union changed the face of Europe and kept mapmakers busy as over twenty new countries emerged or reemerged over the next several years.
