Very nice looking. I'm not familliar with the mono loop on the front of the hook. Could you explain that?

GWP , this is a "blind eye" hook , meaning that you needd to fashion your own loop eye ..... as in the days of old . The loop in the top photo is silk gut and the loop in the bottom photo is braided dacron . Silk gut was used in the 18th and 19th centuries to make the eye loops . While some think that the gut would be fragile , it's quite the opposite . It is long lasting and offers addition freedom of movement to the fly . It is not uncommon to see the Spey's and Dee's in my box with slightly longer gut loops :)

The Daiichi Alec Jackson #2091 only comes in 1.5 , overall length from the end of the shank to the outside of the hook bend is 62mm .
