chuckect 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2010 this is my first post, so if I do anything stupid - sorry... OK I uploaded my picture (big fly) and will try to get it in this post.. well i guess it's there... This is the only picture I have of this fly and I don't know if it falls into this category or not but it is tied with two hooks. I tried it last year @ Cedar Key FL & it seemed to work as well as my other "variants". I am now tying it with a circle hook as the trailer, and tying it with smaller hooks to use in my home lake - Rough River Lake, KY. I am new to tying and I love it, and I love this site.... THANX chuck

FishAholic85 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2010 Well, mine is not really anything special, but man does it catch fish.... Hook: TMC 5263 size 8 Thread: Olive 8/0 Tail: Olive Marabou and Black Flashabou Body: Olive crystal chenille and Orange Ice Dubbing (wrap 2/3 body with chenille, wrap with thread for about 1/4", dub, then continue chenille) Hackle: Olive Saddle hackle I really like the "Hot Spot" you have in your woolly bugger, I did something like that with a black woolly bugger, I put a couple raps of blood red rabbit hair in the middle and it works well too. I like to think that it adds a trigger for trout. If I go buy another camera I will try and post a pic of it. Nice ties everyone, keep'em rolling Cheers, FA85
richyrichtherich 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2010 Booby version of my Fritzy Bugger Fritzy Booby Materials: Hook: Size 10 extra long shank (Kamasan B800) Thread: Black Tail: Olive Marabou, Red and Green Holographic Rib: Fine Copper Wire Body: Medium Olive Fritz Hackles: Black Schlappen, Mallard
nittro 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2010 Just could not resist joining in the fun. Some great variations to try! This is my "Port Dalhousie Princess" named after our local port in St. Catharines, Ontario. A proven summertime bass killer on a heavily dressed number 6 or larger hook, and successful for 'bows tied sparser on a size 8. Hook: Mustad 9672 #6 4XL for bass and #8 2XL for trout Thread: 6/0 Uni white Tail: pink marabou with stem tied along shank to beef up the body profile, plus 4 strands silver Flashabou Body: pink Diamond Braid Hackle: Floro-pink saddle hackle tied tip first, with extra turns at the head to form a substantial collar. In this sample the marabou at the base of the feather was used. I find this provides a larger profile and more subtle movement to the fly. Head: optional black head cement
