troutguy 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2011 Rockworm your flies were packaged so pretty. Due to mailing regulations, I had to tear up the box when mailing it to Australia to Fly Fischa cause it was too big. I was sad. That was very quick that you got them, two days. I am going fishing Sunday to Wilson Creek, NC. i will let you all know how your flies did. They were a great group. Mighty impressive flies! Good work everyone and hats off to the swapmeister. flytyman1 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2011   I received my flies in the mail today. All I can say is awesome! The flies are all so nice and so beautifully tied. They look so good it is going to be tough to use them. Thanks again to the host and all the swappers for such a great swap! Just wanted to mention to all the swappers in this swap that I am going to be hosting a new swap within the next week. It is going to be a "Project Healing Water Swap" and I'm hoping that all of you will consider signing up for the swap. All the details will be posted in the swap post once I place it on the swap board. All the flies will be going to create 12 fly boxes of flies for injured handicapped Vets. who are involved with Project Healing Waters. I will PM all the swappers whom I have been in previous swaps with and ask them to join in also. In this swap no one will be getting any flies back but the flies will all be donated to Project Healing Waters. I have already made arrangements with PHW to deliver the flies to the vets at one of their events and I already have a donor for all the fly boxes so please join in if you can when the swap is posted. Thanks! flytyman1

Sorry about the postage shortage, I"ll make it up. Apparently it costs more if it doesn't go through Tijuana :hyst:

Bruce Carlson 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2023 I have been tying Mayfly dries all summer. Have been shopping for a true Cree cape. Found a Cree cape that was unique and have been watching for one that is brown white & black in either cooler plain colors or honey tones - warm ivory and chocolate brown and charcoal. Have also been watching for a Barred Dunn with good contrast. Saw one listed in UK but was only a half cape. Also search France, UK, Italy (has some unique materials). Am in my later 60's so usually tying 10-16. Have tied 18's though. I use a white board and tie against the silhouette. Interesting discussion on Catskills. We have numerous streams with browns, rainbows and speckled trout. The are beautiful flies to cast and watch as the take happens. All the best to you all Bruce (in Canada)
