Spey rod casters...

Recommended Posts

hahahaha! I have seen why people do this! Actually a friend nearly lost half his rod, i couldn't stop laughing - i am so mean. I did hear that using a bit of candle wax rubbed onto the male ends (sounds kinky!) can alleviate this problem.

I both wax and tape the ferrules on my two-handed rods before using them. Doesn't have anything to do with keeping them from coming apart, though. Helps prevent any of the individual sections from twisting. If you tape, or wax, or both, you'll still want to check that each segment is still properly aligned with the rest every now and then.

I have never used a spey rod but I have always be interested in them. Quick question I fish for warm water fish bass panfish etc. Would a spey rod be good for that type of fishing? BF
