niveker 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2020 Finally got enough free time for some trout fishing yesterday at the local tail water. A good number of small and two good sized brookies, a number of strong Browns, and one Rainbow that was too impatient for a photo. All caught on a fox squirrel nymph. TIER 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2020 I went grayling fishing at the chatnika river and caught 3 grayling. Btw the river was flooding. I didn't get a picture of one, though. Here's the biggest one of the day. Both caught on a san juan worm with a gold bead. I would have gotten this to you guys sooner if our vehicle didn't break down. niveker 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2020 Sorry to hear about your transportation, Tier. Nice fish though. Do you keep or release the grayling?
TIER 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2020 I release all grayling. I am a sport fisherman. And I wanted those grayling to grow up a bit.
niveker 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2020 Good on you Tier, and those are on the small side. I traveled and lived up there for a while, and ate as many of them that I could, stream-side. Glad to see I didn't make a dent in the population.
Peartree 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2020 Sampling of an hours worth of fishing. 8 bass, 6 bluegill. Love how these bluegill fight twice as hard as the bass. All on a sinking spider.
mikechell 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2020 I'm envious of your pond, Peartree. I only caught two this morning, before the sound of thunder warned me to get out of the water. Got video, but I'm going to wait until I get a few more fish before posting it.
