You sure worked for that one, nice.

I sure did! I actually walked for a mile in the wrong direction because my stupid map was VERY incorrect, so I walked back a mile found this road, decided to follow it and I FINNALLY after an hour of walking though mud, cursing at my map, and getting rained on i was finally ready to fish

You will do well as an officer!  It was the map.  I've heard that one before.

My son tried to find a waterfall here in SE TN. Google maps had him all over the place. Local guy at a store where my son stopped fir directions took him right there. Two turns off the main road! Don't trust GPS, either. Known too many people get lost with it.

I am actually glad I am not in Alaska right now. When I left there was still ice on the lakes, but not enough to ice fish on, nor enough to open water fish. The burbot in the tanana would have to navigate through a bunch of ice to get to my baits, and there are no grayling in the rivers yet. Small fish is better than no fish, which is why I am happy to be here in oregon right now.

Some other local wildlife also enjoying the day, until the breeze kicked up and littered the water with pollen, cottonwood tufts, and other tree debris.

Another good day on the Chauga last Monday (10th).  Had a great run of ten or so fish in the first hour and then decided I really needed to take a picture of the particular variation of the Hares ear fly that was working. Caught a tree right after I took the picture (got my fly back), but glad I thought to capture it.  Later fish taken on an Ace of Spades variant (McPhail Video).  Delayed Harvest ended on the 15th.  Hope to get back up this weekend to see what's left after the annual "opening day" run on the river with folks using live bait and treble Hooks.

Crappy weather meant excellent fishing with the river all to myself.

The Browns, Rainbows, Brookies, and one Salmon were all hungry and feeding on the surface.  A few of the highlights:

All taken on a Snowshoe Emerger

And something I rarely do, a couple for the grill
