Bruce Derington 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2011 Oscar, you are going to be just fine, Your attention to detail and natural talent will lend you well, Great tie , but maybe you could reduce your photo to say 600/800 megapixels, photo takes up whole screen, having said this, this size photo will show any defects easily and is a great way to study your fly for future tying, This ones needs nothing , except to be fished, Great JOB Bruce

TitanFlies 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2011 Haha I knew you'd get the hang of it fast, you're first attempt was a really good one! Just keep doin' what you're doing and learn the Humpy for a dry fly and use the CJ and Humpy as a dry-dropper rig. Keep up the good work, man!

H Dot Verseman 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2011 Osedma, Nice tie, the progression is great. Let me, a relatively new tier give you some advice. Watch the temptation of your tying sessions, to switch from one pattern to the next one after another. If you sit down to tie a particular pattern, for whatever time you are going to tie that day, ONLY tie that pattern. This eliminates wasted time by having to change materials, and it also increases your consistency and speed. By tying multiples of each fly in a session, you will get a better idea of what is involved in that pattern, and your fly box will fill up faster. I started tying just over one year ago, and I wish someone would have told me this because much time was wasted tying 1 of this, and then 1 of that. oldtrout58 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2011 For your third fly that is outstanding! 109 flies seem like such an arbitrary number. Is there a reason for setting that as your goal?
dreamcaster4639 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2011 That looks really good. Better than my first CJs. I too am curious as why you picked 109 patterns.
