FishDragon 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2012 Got another Alaskabou Fly tied up This one is a #6 Volcano Size 6 Daiichi 2441 Black 8/0 Uni Small Gold Mylar Tinsel Orange Flashbou + Pearl Krystal Flash (two layers) Red Marabou + Pearl Krystal Flash with another layer of Red Marabou UV Resin Didn't do a great job on the head. Didn't leave enough room. These flies are mainly for fishing salmon in Alaska but I don't see why Atlantic Salmon and Steelies won't go for them Thanks for the comments lykos33
ikerajala 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2012 *SCULPIN CLOUSER. Hook: #8 gamakatsu 4xl Eyes: Here nickle plated, should be gold.Medium I think Thread: Tan 6/0 Wing: Olive bucktail, Pearl krystal flash, and red fox squirrel tail. This is fly pattern I got from a Dick Talluer book I checked out from the library. The eyes should be gold. The book called for tan craft fur, but I have substituted with Olive bucktail. The pearl krystal flash is supposed to be gold spirit river spectra flash. I plan to use this fly more in the spring for smallmouth bass and cutties. *note, The dinosuar is a lamp, who by the way has been my fly tying buddy since grade school. Thanx.
