Thanks for taking the last spot GP. Now we can begin!

Sukhoidave- I would be happy to put your name at the bottom of the list as an alternate in case someone needs to drop out. I also propose the following action to keep the swap moving smoothly: If a participant fails to post his pattern recipe within 48 hours of the previous post he will be reassigned the last slot and everyone else will move up one position.

It was interesting last year to see how Sjo's initial pattern influenced the character of the flies that followed. Since I tyed the final fly last year I thought it fitting that I start this year's swap:

Darwin's Finch

hook: #14 (Partridge L3AS)

thread: purple silk

body: tying silk

hackle: brown hen (furnace actually)

I look forward to seeing how fishingbob improves my simple soft-hackle spider.

Body:Purple 6/0 UNI-Thread

Thorax: Black Dubbing

Sounds good! Itch, eh? You aren't trying to set someone up, are you Bob?

Just following the rules; each tyer will give his creation a name based (however loosely or tangentially) on the previous fly's name. so itch rhymes with finch, that's all. I promised to follow the rules this year B)
