Ruffells311 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2012 The Ray Bergman Collection This may seem like a dumb question, but are these flies fish able? I mean, are they kind of show case or actually streamers? I don't really know anything about trout fishing and those would be trout streamers right? And when people talk about "classic" fly tying, these fall in that area don't they? Great looking flies! Just trying to get educated about them
planettrout 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2012 ALL of those flies are wets and YES they are tried and true fish catching patterns...go here, click on "take a look inside", scroll down to contents and click on "A note about the Fly Plates". This is the first book I read about FF and Tying many years ago... I consider it a must have... http://www.amazon.com/Trout-Ray-Bergman/dp/158667014X my hat is off to anyone who ties these patterns... PT/TB

Piker20 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2012 Great painting and if you shaped the bodies too then I'm jealous. Just brought some wood and spray paints so I can start ruining some poppers of my own.
